The Golden Pot

Screenplay synopsis

Magic and ordinariness are so tightly interwoven in this beautiful story about love, doubts, loyalty, deception and frogivness, that some times it is hart to tell them apart and decide what was real and what wasn’t. And what is real, really?!

This is and old story that has no age, because we humans as well as our emotions and feelings will always be the same, regardless of whether we wear jeans or camisole in the 18 century or 21, in Germany or America. This story makes us think about questions like:

What should we do – what our heart and inner voice tell us or what the society expects from us?

How do we know that that inner voice inside our heart is real and what is real in this world?

This screenplay is based on a book by a famous German writer and composer E.T.A.Hoffmann and offers endless possibilities for use of modern ballet and special effects that would make this totally bewitched story of ordinary love even more exciting, thrilling and fascinating.

This movie may gather a large audience. It will be loved by everyone who loves magic, love stories, humor, adventure as well as those who like historical shows. The events are unfolding in Germany of 18 century and call for the amazing costumes of that time.

Despite the fact that the novel “The Golden Pot” which became a base for this screenplay was written almost two hundred years ago, many special effects necessary to reflect many magical events of the story became available only recently and the author of this screenplay is excited to present this work to the honorable jurors, who (we are sure) would find it very interesting and deserving the quickest screening. Finally the magic of the story is so powerful, that it may influence the decision makers and win the positive answer regarding this submission.

The original story happened in Dresden. This city was destroyed during the Second World War, but many cities in Germany and Austria still offer the same architectural style as Dresden in the 18 century.
